Subjek CLIMATOLOGY
Catatan The World Health Organization has described climate change as the greatest threat to public health in the 21st Century. People in Australia are already feeling the effects of a warming planet. In recent years, unprecedented droughts, fires and floods have taken their toll on lives. Longer and hotter summers, with more frequent and intense heatwaves, are regularly breaking temperature records. Illness, injury and death related to disasters and extreme heat represent just a few of climate change’s impacts on health. Without action to reduce emissions, climate change will threaten food and water security, facilitate the spread of infectious diseases and worsen air quality with far-reaching and devastating consequences for health. Climate change is also having a profound impact on mental health across the country, particularly amongst our youth.
