Kajian Dalam Bidang Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi: Filosofi, Teori, dan Praktik

on undergraduate students for writing a thesis at the State University of
Malang, Indonesia (Darmono, 1995); and the latest undergraduate thesis
analysed information needs and ISB of final year students archaeological
study program in Universitas Indonesia (Robbani, 2017).
However, tracing ISB studies in Indonesia poses many challenges.
First, since most ISB studies borrowed a model from researchers outside
Indonesia, formulating the ISB specificity in Indonesia is challenging.
Second, given that some thesis publications are closed access, searching
for open access full-text publications are also challenging. Therefore, a
better understanding of ISB studies in Indonesia is expected, and thus, this
paper objectives is to investigate the conceptual model, and methods used
merely on open access undergraduate and master’s thesis; and to provide
an insight for further investigation on ISB domain.

                                      II. METHODS
The author employed a systematic literature review approach
following the steps described in Albanna & Heeks (2019), and Bell et al.
(2019). This work began by establishing a number of thesis collections that
were indexed under ‘perilaku pencarian informasi’ or ‘ISB’ and shown
in search engine results page (SERP) on Universitas Indonesia Library’s
OPAC (www.lib.ui.ac.id) on May 17th, 2019. In total, 56 publications were
discovered in the immediate past and current issues between 1995 and
2017, which consist of 7 (seven) duplicate entries. From 49 non-duplicate
publications, 10 full-text undergraduate and master’s theses that available
online were examined for theories, and methods. The theses collected were
also chosen to revisit the original texts for further analysis or verification
and to increase the level of reproducibility in this work.
Table 1 summarises the thesis collections, which consists of five
undergraduate theses (ID starts with ‘U’), and five master’s theses (ID
starts with ‘M’). Furthermore, nine publications were published under the
Faculty of Humanities, and one publication from the Faculty of Computer
            Science.

                             III. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

            A. ISB Model and Topics Identified in Theses
Ten theses were identified as the results of the inclusion and exclusion
process (Albanna & Heeks, 2019; Bell et al., 2019). The author then
read and identified ISB models and methods used in theses, which are
            summarised in Table 1.
In terms of ISB models, the analysis showed the five frequent models
