Kajian Dalam Bidang Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi: Filosofi, Teori, dan Praktik

                                II. RESEARCH METHODS

            A. Struktur Artikel (Heading 2)
This article was written with the aim of finding ideas needed to restore
the role and function of the library as a center of knowledge. For this
reason, it needs written data (printed and digital) in the form of articles
contained in domestic and foreign journals, and seminar papers on relevant
topics. Therefore the most appropriate method for equipping researchers
in composing ideas is a literature study in which the primary data sources
used are written material in the form of studies and research as well as
opinions regarding the needs and interactions of individuals, groups and
communities as library users. The author does not limit the year the articles
were written as long as the articles are relevant to the purpose of writing.
Then, there are articles written in early 2001. Secondary data used to
complete the analysis is a record of observations on the library and user
behavior, record the results of discussions and conversations with librarians,
library observers, library science lecturers and library management. Next,
data will be grouped into several sections to be used as the basis for making
ideas. Approach to problems and ideas is carried out through sociological
studies, so there is no discussion about technology. Data will be presented
in qualitative narratives which if deemed necessary will be equipped with
            tables and graphics.

                             III. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

            A. Results
Readers are the main orientation of all libraries, regardless of the
library type. Thus, each library managerial activity, from the collection, to
the front yard of the library building, is designed to meet the needs, desires
and preferences of the library users. Even success for libraries, is measured
by the user satisfaction index, not the size of the building or the level of
education of librarians or the number of collections offered. Based on this,
the discussion will begin with a sociological description of the library users
as individual obtained from the data collected during the research.

            Needs of Interactions
Penulisan A library user as a social beings instinctively always need
interaction with people around them, both to help themselves to be able to
solve problems or works he is facing, to exchange opinions and thoughts,
or simply express what is felt so as not to settle in him which would harm
