Kajian Dalam Bidang Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi: Filosofi, Teori, dan Praktik

            to be used by community members, although there are also individuals and
            organizations that establish libraries that provide free services to the public.
            The library also provides educational, social and political information for
            certain communities or communities (Watkins, L., O>Reilly, M., Kuhn,
            M., Gevarter, C., Lancioni, GE, Sigafoos, J., & Lang, R., 2015; Sanford,
            N., 2017; Anugrah, D., & Ardoni, A., 2013; Asmiyanto, T., 2005; Olayinka,
            2010; Pebrianto, S., 2011; Utami, FA, 2017). As a public space, the library
            is also considered to have the ability to influence the community to carry
            out the mission of the library, namely the increasing reading habit and
            self-study (Kapitzke, C., 2001; Ariyani, LPS, & Wirawan, IGMAS, 2017;
            Azwar, M., 2016; Frediyanto, D., 2012; Irianti, P., 2014; Kurniawati, RD,
            &  Prajarto,  N.,  2007;  Handa,  Tarvinder.,  2019;  Jibril, AHMAD,  2017;
            Rahman, F., 2013). This means that the library is not just a mere building
            that is only a place to store collections of printed materials which can be
            borrowed at any time. In other words, a library is an institution where it
            runs a system that regulates all the components in it to be able to play a role
            in helping the community to be able to attract knowledge which is already
            provided in all collections of the library.
                The library as a public space does not only consist of a space that only
            functions to store collections, but also functions as a place to study, both
            reading and discussing. For this reason, the library space and services of
            librarians in the library are arranged in such a way that the users feel at
            home lingering in the library (Septiana, F., 2013; Anugrah, D., & Ardoni,
            A., 2013; Wijayanti, L., & Richardus, WNC , 2016; Widyawan, R., 2012;
            Ariyanti, N., 2015; Sumadi, R., 2017; Kusumaningtyas, M., 2013; Lesmana,
            HA, Yusuf, M., & Budi, GS (2016). According to those opinions, it can be
            said that the library can be used as a place of learning that accompanies the
            existence of schools or universities as a place to gain knowledge because
            of the nature of services that are prioritized for the needs of users such as
            schools prioritizing student needs.

            Library as a Companion for Using Digital Technology
                When people are introduced to information and communication
            technology (ICT) and then are accustomed to using it, similarly libraries
            and librarians also began to use the latest technology to manage their
            institutions and collections so that they can meet the demands of the needs
            of fast and accurate services (Asmiyanto, T. 2005; Batubara, AK, 2011;
            Carr, CT, & Hayes, RA, 2015; Faitmoes, E., Indriasari, TD, & Ardanari,
            P., 2014), and because of their participation in using information and
            communication technology, libraries can help users in seeking information
